Marketer, Teacher, Writer
He has been a marketing professional for more than two decades, and has been a publisher. He was marketing director for a Denver radio station, a professional photofinishing lab and a real estate brokerage; he also did extensive marketing consulting for a variety of small businesses.
For a decade, he taught Marketing, Advertising, Copywriting, Color, and other courses at The Art Institute of Colorado. Earlier in his career he taught photographic courses at two private schools.
He has one published book in print, and a second near completion. Other published writing includes poetry, articles and film reviews.
J. C. performed research in color and color vision in the 1960s, repeating some of Edwin Land's experiments, and conducting original primary research as well. He continues periodic studies in that field.
He is a graduate of Brooks Institute of Photography. He taught photography in the late sixties and early seventies, and was the Director of Photography at the now defunct Denver Technical College.
He operated a commercial photographic studio, specializing in the photography of small products and architectural interiors, after having managed portrait studios for Jafay/Markay Photographs, and for May Department Stores for several years.
